“Play is our brain’s favorite way of learning.” -Diane Ackerman
This blog is about the simple games I play with my daughters that promote learning and fun. Children’s brains are like sponges and it’s exciting to see their little eyes brighten as they learn something new. My blog aims to share simple, fun ideas that you can try with your little ones at home and while out and about.

I am Annique and have been a primary school teacher for 10 years so have always enjoyed watching children learn and develop. Now I have my own children, I get to see there little minds of curiosity and love of learning daily and it brings me so much joy. I am also Early years lead and am passionate about it!
I’m lucky enough to have two daughters. Firstly there is Emilia who is a spirited, determined 3 year old and she will be featured in many of my blogs because she is the crazy toddler that I’m desperately trying to keep entertained and keep her from making too much mischief. Ottilie is my youngest and she is now 1 and she will be joining in where she can as she gets older.
I decided to start this blog while on maternity leave because I wanted to ensure that Emilia got some 1:1 time with mummy everyday. I think when you go from having one child to more you are so conscious to not shake their little world too much and this was a way for us to have some specific time everyday for just us so it mainly took place during Ottilie’s naps.
