We absolutely love Christmas in our house and the ‘elf on the shelf’ tradition is all just part of the magic. Last year, Emilia was so excited waking up to discover what mischief the elf had got up to each day. Let’s not forget that having the little elf in the house definitely aids good behaviour throughout December, as a direct spy for Santa.
This year, along with the usual cheeky tricks our elf is going to set Christmas themed challenges to be completed. Anything to keep the toddler entertained, having fun and learning at the same time. Below are 24 ideas that you could try…
1. BEAD CANDY CANES
2. PLAYDOH CHRISTMAS DINNER
3. SNOWBALL LETTER SPLAT
4. COUNTING PRESENTS
5. CHRISTMAS BUNTING
6. CHRISTMAS SHAPE JUMPER
7. CHRISTMAS TREE COLOUR MATCH
8. SANTA CLIMBS DOWN THE CHIMNEY
9. CHRISTMAS LETTER MATCH
10. ROLL A REINDEER
11. ORDER THE ELF CLOTHES ON THE LINE
12. BAUBLE COLOUR MATCH
13. CHRISTMAS PUZZLES
14. PRINCESS PRESENT MATCH
15. ELF KAROKE
16. BUILD A SNOWMAN
17. WRITE A LETTER TO SANTA
18. BUILD A GINGERBREAD HOUSE
19. HUNTING IN THE SNOW
20. MELT THE ICE
21. MAKE A FLYING REINDEER POTION
22. FEED THE PENGUIN GAME

Our elf will set a new challenge for Emilia each day and I’ll be posting on to Instagram (@myteachermummyandme). If you want to join in the fun use the hashtag #elf_challenges for your posts. You can use some of these ideas or some of your own. I cannot wait to see the festive fun the children get up to.
Finally, Merry Christmas everyone!!
